Your room. Your information.
Room photos can show a lot about your home. Here is how information moves through CleanBurst.

What you provide
Your account includes the details you use to sign in. When you use the app, it saves household and room details, uploaded photos or videos, generated and edited tasks, completion history, timer activity, and your plan and credit usage.
Choose photos of the area you want help with. Avoid including people, addresses, financial information or other sensitive documents.
How photos become tasks
Before your first AI request, CleanBurst asks you to agree to external processing and records the notice version and acceptance time. Declining keeps that request from uploading or sending information for analysis. Uploaded room media is stored with your household’s room information. When you request an analysis or review, the relevant photos and cleaning context are sent to an external AI service to produce suggestions. Where video analysis is available, walkthrough videos may also be processed to describe the room.
The current service uses Clerk for accounts and household membership, Convex for app data and file storage, and OpenAI or OpenRouter and its selected model provider for photo analysis. Google Gemini may process walkthrough videos. Each provider has its own data-handling terms. Processing is not limited to your device.
Why we process information
We use account details, saved rooms, tasks and allowance records to provide the service you request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Sending room content to an AI service relies on your permission (Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw that permission in account settings; future AI requests will ask again. Withdrawal does not undo information already sent, and you can still use saved tasks and timers.
Limited error diagnostics and abuse prevention support our legitimate interests in keeping the service reliable and protecting accounts (Article 6(1)(f)). Records that must be retained to meet tax, payment or other legal requirements are processed under Article 6(1)(c). We do not use room photos for advertising or make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you from AI suggestions.
Household access
Rooms, media and cleaning information belong to your household in the app. Where household sharing is enabled, other members can access shared room information. Be thoughtful about who you invite and what you upload.
Payments and diagnostics
Where web purchases are available, checkout and subscription management use Stripe. CleanBurst stores subscription and credit records to provide the purchased allowance. Payment details are entered with the payment service.
Sentry helps diagnose errors and performance problems. Diagnostic records may include an account identifier and information about app activity. Session replay is disabled. Error diagnostics are filtered to remove common secrets and contact fields, but are not necessarily anonymous.
Sign-in services use browser storage to keep you signed in. The website also saves preferences such as your selected appearance on your device.
Service providers and international processing
The website is hosted by Vercel. Account, infrastructure, payment, diagnostics and AI providers may process information outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. The location of the app database does not mean all processing stays in Europe. Provider retention, subprocessors and transfer terms differ.
More detail is available in the providers’ notices and data-processing terms: Clerk, Convex, Vercel, OpenAI, OpenRouter, Google Gemini, Stripe and Sentry. Contact us for information about the providers used for your requests and the applicable transfer safeguards. We do not promise zero retention by every AI provider.
How long information stays
Saved room media and cleaning information stay available while your household uses them, until they are removed or the household is deleted. Files uploaded but never attached to a room become eligible for automatic cleanup after 24 hours. Upload rate-limit records are pruned after 24 hours. Usage and credit records are kept while needed to provide and explain your allowance, handle disputes and prevent misuse. External-provider diagnostics, backups and payment records follow the relevant provider and legal retention requirements.
Removing information
You can remove a room in the app. That removes its room record, attached room media and current tasks from the active app database. Replacing room photos removes the previous room-photo files. This is separate from account deletion and does not promise immediate removal of service-provider logs, backups or billing records.
You can request permanent account deletion in Settings. If you own a household with other members, transfer ownership first. Deleting a sole owner’s account removes that household’s room media, tasks and cleaning history and cancels an active household subscription. Deleting an account also removes room photos and videos that the app identifies as uploaded by that account. Shared tasks, cleaning history and older uploads without an identified uploader remain for other household members. Minimal deletion-request identifiers and processing status are kept to finish or retry the request; completed deletion records are scheduled for removal after 30 days. This does not promise removal of external-provider logs, backups or required payment records at the same time. For account, data-access or deletion help, email contact@cleanburst.io. Deleting local app storage or uninstalling the app does not by itself delete your account.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or a portable copy, and object to processing based on legitimate interests where the law provides those rights. Contact contact@cleanburst.io; we may need to verify that the request comes from the account holder. You may also complain to a data-protection authority, including the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
